Last week, during Volunteer Week, we were pleased to attend the Ealing and Hounslow CVS event celebrating volunteers from across Ealing and Hounslow.

Around 50 people came together at Isleworth Hall to recognise the dedication and hard work of volunteers making a difference in their communities. It was great to be alongside so many inspiring individuals and organisations, all committed to supporting local people.

Volunteers received certificates of appreciation in recognition of their contributions, and everyone enjoyed the opportunity to share lunch, connect with one another, and celebrate the positive impact being made across a range of organisations.

We had three volunteers who were recognised for their efforts within our community. The three volunteers are as follows:

Sujata Ray – Sujata has been volunteering as a maths, English, and functional skills tutor for the past two years. During this time, she has made a significant impact on young people who had fallen behind in their education after COVID-19. Thanks to her dedication and consistent support, many of these individuals have successfully returned to mainstream education.

Sussie Clark – Sussie has played a key role in the food bank and distribution programme since its establishment over a year ago. She is an invaluable member of the team, serving the local community with warmth and enthusiasm. Her welcoming nature ensures that every individual feels supported and included.

Josephine Titi — Joseph volunteers with the Coffee Morning and Golden Lives programmes. She attends each week with a positive attitude, actively supporting the community. She also shares her knowledge of healthy eating, offering practical advice and teaching others how to prepare nutritious meals on a tight budget.

Due to external factors, they weren't in attendance, but Syreeta and Rodgers were there to receive it on their behalf. We look forward to giving them their certificates when we next see them.

Thank you, Ealing and Hounslow CVS, for hosting such a wonderful event and recognising the hard work of our volunteers.
