Winning streak continues for Riana Development Network (RDN)

On the 18th of November 2025, we attended the Jack Petchey Awards night at Hounslow Cineworld. Every year we send in our nominations of a select few young people from across all our programmes. This year we sent in three nominations and came out with three winners. They were all nominated for many reasons, and here is a small section about our winners.

Maya Duverger
Maya has been an outstanding member of the Year 5 & 6 class at Saturday School, and her achievement of the Jack Petchey Leadership Award is a true reflection of her exceptional qualities. She consistently demonstrates leadership through her supportive and encouraging nature, particularly when helping peers solve problems. Maya is naturally inquisitive and shows a strong desire to deepen her understanding of new concepts, especially in English and Maths.
This year, Maya has shown exceptional courage and enthusiasm in her learning, resulting in her early progression to the Year 7 class during the summer term. Her academic achievements are a testament to her dedication and positive attitude.
Beyond her academic success, Maya is a kind, friendly, and well-liked member of the class. She goes out of her way to ensure others feel included both in lessons and during break times. Her empathy, inclusivity, and ability to build strong peer relationships make her a true role model and an excellent representative of the values celebrated by the Jack Petchey Leadership Award.

Sarah Telford
Sarah Telford, from Riana FC & Dukes Meadows Youth Club, has been awarded the Jack Petchey Leadership Award in recognition of her creativity, commitment, and enthusiasm. She consistently brings positive energy to everything she does, making her a standout member of our club.
Sarah is often the first to arrive and always ready to contribute—whether it's offering new ideas, supporting her teammates, or helping out behind the scenes. One of her most notable contributions was designing the emblem for our new football kit. Her imaginative and thoughtful design perfectly captured the identity of our team and gave the club a fresh, youthful look that everyone was proud to wear.
Her initiative, creativity, and team spirit shine through in everything she does. Sarah is not only a valued member of our community but also a fantastic role model for her peers. She leads by example and shows what it means to be actively involved and committed to making a difference.
Jayden Cabey
Although Jayden was unable to attend the award ceremony due to prior work commitments, he has been recognised as a Jack Petchey Leadership Award winner for his outstanding contributions as a young leader within the community.
Jayden played a pivotal role in the development of Sport4All, a programme co-designed with children and young people to provide inclusive access to a range of sports activities. This initiative was created to address the barriers faced by ethnically diverse communities, ensuring that all young people have the opportunity to participate in and enjoy sport.
Jayden's remarkable leadership, vision, and dedication to fostering inclusive sports opportunities and advocating for youth issues make him an ideal candidate for the Leadership Award. His efforts have not only provided immediate benefits to his peers but have also laid the groundwork for a more inclusive and supportive community for future generations.
Congratulations to all our winners. We would like to thank Jack Petchey Foundation for hosting and giving opportunities for the young people in our programmes. We appreciate your continued support and hope to be back again next year.
