Business Development Coordinator Intern: Bryanne Jacobs - Johnson

At Riana Development Network, we believe in nurturing talent that shares our commitment to community, inclusion, and youth empowerment. That's why we're thrilled to welcome our newest team member through the University of West London's 6-month graduate scheme. Joining us on July 2nd, our Business Development Coordinator Intern Bryanne Jacobs - Johnson has previous experience working in a similar environment as a passenger and teaching assistant in various schools.

To help you get to know her better, we sat down for a short conversation to learn more about what inspires her, what she hopes to achieve during her time with us, and why Riana felt like the right place to start her professional journey.

Why Riana?

I was drawn to Riana Development Network because of its commitment to community, ethnic minorities, and youth empowerment. The organisation's mission aligns with my passion for making a positive impact, and I believe my previous experience can contribute significantly to its goals.

What are you most excited about in your new position?

I'm most excited about the opportunity to collaborate with different organisations and individuals to tackle issues that the youth are struggling with. Hoping to encourage people to support our organisation. Also, the potential for creative problem-solving with the team. Thinking of new ways to interact with residents in the community.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy exploring nature through walking and photography. I also love reading, particularly self-development books, as they inspire me and broaden my perspectives.

What are your goals for your first 90 days?

My goals for the first 90 days include understanding the organisation culture, building relationships with my team, and getting a clear grasp of ongoing projects. I aim to contribute meaningfully and identify areas where I can add value.

What are you hoping to learn or accomplish at the company?

I hope to learn more about effective project management also want to gain more experience using sales force. Additionally, I want to contribute to significant outcomes that align with the company’s strategic objectives.

How do you see yourself growing within the organisation?

I envision myself growing through continuous learning and taking on increasing responsibilities.

One word your friends would use to describe you?

My friends would likely describe me as “dedicated," reflecting my commitment to both personal and professional endeavours.

At Riana, we know the value of investing in the next generation of changemakers. We believe our new intern brings not only talent and curiosity but also a heartfelt commitment to helping others, a quality that lies at the core of our mission. We want to thank the University of West London for working with us again. The opportunity will greatly help our organisation reach new heights.

"We’re delighted to welcome our Business Development Coordinator Intern to our small team. She brings energy, skills and a genuine passion for youth development, all of which contribute to the organisation’s growth and long-term sustainability. Having an intern focused on fundraising will help us build vital relationships, explore new funding opportunities and ultimately support more people—amplifying our impact where it’s needed most."   — Judith Heljeberg, Programmes & Business Development Manager

We look forward to all the growth, learning, and impact the next six months will bring with her right at the heart of it.
