Community in Action: SOGA fundraises to Support Riana Development Network
Strand on Green Association raises £1000 for Riana

On the 6th of September, Riana Development Network (RDN) was invited to the Tidefest event. Tidefest is a free, annual, family-friendly community festival celebrating the tidal River Thames at Strand on the Green in Chiswick, near Brentford. It all began with a simple conversation between our CEO, Rodgers Orero, and Anna Collins, Chair of the Strand on the Green Association (SOGA). After a challenging period for traditional in-person fundraising, this chance chat sparked a brilliant idea: partnering for SOGA’s annual street party tombola stall to support RDN’s community projects.
Strand on the Green Association is a local community and residents' group formed in 1959 to preserve the historic character, environment, and riverside community of Strand on the Green in Chiswick, West London.

The Strand on Green and nearby communities gathered to celebrate the day. There were several kiosks offering free children's games, local history, and hot food on the move. RDN was also there on the day to help with the Tombola and support the volunteers and staff. Syreeta, our lead youth worker, even participated in the Tombola and won a prize.

We want to extend our warmest thank you to Strand on Green Association (SOGA) for giving us this opportunity. This means a lot for our organisation and the community we help.
