VlogStar Challenge Semi-Finalist!

An enthusiastic individual – Rhiannon demonstrated a natural confidence and a sense of maturity when presenting in front of the camera in the Hounslow VlogStar workshop in September. Young people were given the chance to talk about social issues or about what inspires them in life. Rhiannon caught up with RDN Youth Coordinator, Maxwell Omondi when she received the good news:

What did you choose to talk about in your vlog and why?
In my vlog, I decided to talk about something that was personal to me. I found this easier to relate to as I was more passionate about what I was talking about. It helps to talk about things which you’re familiar with as it means you can talk more confidently.

What are you looking forward to in the upcoming workshop at YouTube Space?

In the YouTube space, I am looking forward to learning about how vlogging works with the tips that they give me in a deeper depth to get a better understanding of what I could be doing to make the vlogs better.

What advice would you give to young people taking part next year?

For the next young person to apply, my advice would be: do not be afraid of the camera, treat it like your friend, relax and be yourself. If you feel comfortable with what you’re doing and with yourself, it’s a lot more comfortable for someone to watch you.

The VlogStar Challenge Semi-Finals will be taking place on Monday 22nd May 2017 with 15 contestants moving to the final round later this summer.
