At the semi-final stage, the VlogStar Challenge semi-finalists had to follow a set brief with their vlogs lasting between one and one and a half minutes. All of the participants had access to professional equipment and mentors on hand to give advice on how to produce a top quality video for an online audience. Rhiannon produced her vlog and uploaded the video onto YouTube which can be viewed below.

The panel at YouTube space judged that Rhiannon’s vlog was in the top 15, out of the 150 young people who took part! The finalists have since been asked to produce one more vlog to upload to their channels on a topic of their choice. Rhiannon’s submission for the final can be viewed below, a powerful spoken word piece on events which have affected communities in London this year.

The VlogStar Challenge Finals will be taking place on Friday 14th July at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in London. The winner will receive £2000 on behalf of their organisation, £500 worth of equipment and continued one-to-one mentoring from experts at YouTube.
