Community Trip to Southend

Families and friends attended the day trip as part of an end of term celebration with students, parents and teachers alike. The trip also provided an opportunity for families to bond and relax, enjoying the warm summer weather.

Overall the trip was positive, the children definitely enjoyed it as it gave them the chance to be adventurous and explore life by the coast.

- Janet Omondi (RDN)

Kamal (Westpoint SCD) commented on the day:

"The trip was a great opportunity for RDN and Westpoint students to get to know each other. The work our organisations do is very similar and we support this effort for better community cohesion.

Our students were also so inspired by the work RDN has done with the National Citizen Service that they would like to get involved next summer!

It is good that students from both schools were able to make new friends and enjoy the day."

Activities included going on rollercoaster rides, swimming by the sea and a mini football tournament with the students!

It was a really nice day, we had so much fun, we just wish it could happen more often.

RDN hope this can be the start of more events between both supplementary schools.

We welcome continued collaboration Westpoint SCD to keep local communities connected and share the positive work achieved in respective London boroughs.

Westpoint SCD work with communities in the London Boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham and Westminster to promote social inclusion.
